Help L.A. County Shape Their Housing Element With the REALTOR Perspective
Monday, Jul 12, 2021 @ 10:29 PM

The County of Los Angeles is updating the Housing Element of the General Plan for 2021-2029 and is seeking feedback from the business community during a focus group on Tuesday, July 20th at 2:00pm. REALTORS® are invited to share their valuable expertise about the housing market and housing policy in Los Angeles County.

The Housing Element serves as a policy guide to address the comprehensive housing needs of the unincorporated areas which includes Marina Del Rey and View Park in our association geography.  The County is required to fulfill its share of the Regional Housing Needs Allocation (RHNA), the State has assigned LA County with a RHNA of 90,052 units of housing.

Take a look at the Preliminary Draft Housing Element Here.

The County is looking for feedback and participation at their virtual zoom focus group on Tuesday, July 20th from 2:00pm to 3:30pm for stakeholders involved in Countywide housing development and policy. This is an opportunity for REALTOR® members to learn more about this plan.

The Draft Housing Element is broken into seven (7) main housing strategies:

1) Ensuring Housing Availability,

2) Ensuring Housing Affordability,

3) Stabilizing Housing Supply,

4) Facilitating the Construction and Maintenance of Housing,

5) Furthering Fair Housing,

6) Ensuring Environmental Sustainability in Housing Production and

7) Ensuring Compliance.

The feedback provided here will be incorporated into their formal Public Review Draft for public comment in early August.
