Revised Safer at Work Order Allows More Industries to Reopen

The County of Los Angeles issued an updated Health Officer Order on June 18 allowing a new sector of businesses to re-open beginning on June 19.

Businesses allowed to reopen include:

These businesses can begin opening but must comply with and post at their
place of business distancing and infection control protocols established by the County of Los Angeles before re-opening. The full list of protocols can be found here under "Reopening Protocols."

The updated order can be found here.

Statewide Mask Order Impact on Real Estate

Governor Gavin Newsom recently issued an order requiring mandatory mask wearing in public settings when social distancing is not possible. Since C.A.R.’s best practices guidelines already recommended face coverings when meeting with clients, performing showings and hosting open houses, there is no significant change to the real estate industry.

However, the statewide order puts renewed emphasis on face coverings so compliance with this guideline on the part of the REALTOR®and clients/visitors is strongly encouraged. If you are in need of personal protective equipment such as masks, gloves and hand sanitizer, the REALTOR®Team Store has a dedicated PPE portal with special pricing on a wide range of items.

Turning on all lights and opening all doors prior to showings or open houses are recommended as best practices to reduce touchpoints during client-facing activities.

If you have any questions about this order, please ask your broker.
